31 Days of Halloween, Day 18: Tim Burton’s VINCENT
Back before the stream of remakes, back before The Corpse Bride, Frankenweenie and The Nightmare Before Christmas, back even before Tim Burton was TIM BURTON, he made this — a quaint little animated short narrated by the subject of its tribute: his idol, the great Vincent Price. Made while he was an artist at Disney Studios, Burton based this short on a poem he’d written and intended to turn into a children’s book. It was screened relatively few times by Disney after its completion, and then consigned to the Vault because they didn’t know what to do with it. The stop-motion animation was done with Stephen Chiodo of the Chiodo Brothers, who would later go on to make Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
